I would love more ideas of statements you make within the play therapy session like relational statements, emotional, cognitive etc.

Ooh I love this question Andrea!
Here are some of the ones that I notice myself making:

“My brain is trying to pay attention to 2 things at once”
“My body feels not quite right” (really useful for kiddos with alexithymia or other issues where they can’t quite name the feeling/sensation)
“My chest feels tight, I think it wants to stretch”
“It’s like something heavy is pressing down on me”
“You’re right there next to me but it feels like you’re far away”
“I can’t feel you there” (I often use this one in 1:1s with hypoaroused parents to bring awareness to that sensation that the child may be feeling)
“It feels good to sit next to you”

I’m wondering if anyone has any great ideas for online activities when working with a 9/10-year-old male with anxiety. I don’t typically work online with kiddos and I’m trying to be flexible with the hope that as he feels more comfortable he will be willing to come into the playroom for his sessions. The child is quite verbal and did answer quite a few questions during the part of the online Intake that he attended. TIA
