Some things to remember in using the forum:

Be Kind and Courteous: We are all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, and kindness is required.

Strive for a Neuroception of Safety: Degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

Respect Everyone’s Privacy: Being part of this forum requires mutual trust. What is shared in the forum should stay in the forum.

Reflect on SPT and its impact in your life: We all have experiences we would like to share about how SPT is impacting us personally and professionally.  The forum can be used to share  ways that you are connecting with SPT and please share  in a way that keeps all parties in confidence.

Here is what the forum is not:

Open for Sharing Personal Information: Remember- nothing on the internet is safe, private, or confidential. Please refrain from sharing personal information via the forum, such as credit card information, home address, etc.

An Alternative to Supervision*: This forum is a community for us to come together for camaraderie and support. However, it should not be used as a replacement for one-on-one consultation.

A Space for Client Consultation*: The forum should not be used to ask for guidance on a client session or speak about clients in any way. You may ask for resources in a generic way that does not mention any specifics about the client (including age, etc.). We also need to refrain from giving specific details about parents.

*If you would like to request individual or group consultation, Synergetic Play Therapy Institute offers these services.  Contact your Student Engagement Liaison or the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute to get more information about how we can support your needs.

A Place for Marketing:   Please use the Shine Your Light Topic  to share what you are up to.  Otherwise, no promotions, spam and irrelevant links are allowed. If someone asks for a resource and YOU are the resource, go ahead and offer yourself.

These guidelines protect confidentiality and assure that posts/comments are aligned with the ethics of the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute and laws applicable to the client/clinician relationship.

These guidelines are not meant to prevent you from receiving support and asking questions, but rather to offer ways to support your questions while protecting this community in the most ethical way possible.

Note: That SPTI Admin has the right to review, remove and delete posts if they do not meet the spirit for which they are intended. All members agree that their posts will conform to HIPAA regulations and will keep the spirit of SPT.

Have fun and we look forward to seeing you in the Forum!!!
