Welcome to Day 1 of “2 Days of Play Therapy Workshops in Adelaide, Australia”! This 6-hour workshop is on the topic of Playing Perfectly: A Play Therapist’s Guide for Working with OCD.

To receive CE Credit Hours for this topic, you must attend the live event in-person and must complete a quiz at the end of this course. Once completed, you will have the opportunity to print a course certificate.


Venue/Location Information:

This live event will be held at the Adelaide Botanic Garden, Hackney Road, Adelaide SA 5000, in Noel Lothian Hall.

Noel Lothian Hall is an indoor venue nestled between the Rose Garden and Kitchen Garden within Adelaide Botanic Garden and has a beautiful, lush lawn and Conservatory views!

Live Event Schedule & How to Prepare:

When: September 29, 2024, 9am – 4:30pm Australian Central Standard Time*

*We will be taking short breaks during the day and will have an hour for lunch where you will be able to step away, explore, and find lunch on your own. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

  • Optional: Aggression in Play Therapy book, if you would like Lisa to sign your copy!

Prior to our time together on September 29, 2024, you will also need to complete the first lesson of this course and agree to the Course Agreements. *You must complete the Course Agreements lesson before you will gain access to the following lessons.


Live Event Learning Objectives: You will be asked to rate these objectives after our time together on September 29th in order to receive your certificate.

Playing Perfectly: A Play Therapist’s Guide for Working with OCD Learning Objectives

  • Identify at least 3 OCD themes and examples of their obsessions/compulsions to better understand a child’s symptoms in a play therapy process
  • Discuss the importance of the play therapist’s role as the child’s external regulator in treating OCD during a play therapy session
  • Explore Synergetic Play Therapy®’s concept of “The Set-Up/The Offering” with OCD in the playroom
  • Explore how play therapy can help a child with OCD learn how to regulate through their anxiety
  • Identify at least 3 ideas to help treat OCD in the play therapy process
  • Discuss the importance of working with the entire family system in play therapy when a child is struggling with OCD

CE Credit Hours:  6 CE Credit Hours, NBCC Content Areas: Counseling Theory/Practice and the Counseling Relationship; Human Growth and Development
