Hello Awesome Student!
We are delighted that you will be joining us for the upcoming Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) Intensive Training. Whether you are familiar with SPT or just jumping in, welcome! You are in for a magical experience as you watch your child client and 3 other children transform and integrate right before your very eyes. And… one of the best parts is that you will get to transform right along side them!
This training is limited to only 4 therapists at a time in order to support your integration of the material at a high level. You will be guided by 2 fabulous Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisors/Instructors who have been on the exact same journey you are about to embark on.
To get you started and grounded in the experience, here is some information to help you:
The training will take place at the location specified below. The hours of the training are 9:00 am – 6:00 pm every day of the training with an hour lunch break. (Lunch not provided, but feel free to bring one with you if you would like) We have included the Intensive Training Schedule_2018 so that you have a better idea about the order of events for the training.
BEFORE YOUR TRAINING:
Please complete the following course agreements by Clicking Here to Complete.
If you have already done this when you signed up, Thank You! You do not need to re-do it.
2018 LOCATIONS:
If you are joining us for the September/October training, the training is taking place at Braindrops Play Therapy and Wellness, 209 E Plum St, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
ATTIRE:
We encourage you to dress comfortably and to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Keep in mind that you will be playing and will spend a lot of time on the floor, so we do not encourage you to wear a skirt. Note: You will be meeting with the parents of your child client in addition to having a 20 minute play therapy session in the afternoon on the first day. You will also see the parents during each drop off/pick up every day and meet with them again on the very last day, so you will need to look professional, even though you can be casual. Jeans are just fine to wear. We also encourage you to bring walking/hiking shoes and spend a little time outside at the end of the day. (If you just felt nervous reading that you are meeting the parents and your kiddo on the first day, take a deep breath. You are completely supported and we will help you ease into this process slowly and guide you each step of the way)
WHAT TO BRING:
All of your training materials will be provided for you. Please bring a laptop for note taking and for writing your final treatment summary (we will teach you how to write a great one!). You will also be given time on the last day of your training to log onto the training platform, rate the class objectives and access your certificate.
If you would like to support your training and get a jump start go ahead and order Lisa Dion’s book: (Note: Integrating Extremes is currently available on amazon until Aggression in the Playroom is released)
APT CREDITS:
The continuing education credits for this course are approved by the Association for Play Therapy. APT will only grant these credits to an individual who is a mental health professional or a graduate student in the mental health field only. If you do not meet these requirements then the certificate you are about to receive is not valid for CE credits. We are governed by the Association of Play Therapy and must follow their policy, which requires us to only provide CE credits to those that meet their criteria.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Written cancellation letters received 6 weeks prior to the training will receive a full refund of the balance of fees minus a 25.00 administrative fee. Any cancellations sent after that date will forfeit the amount of the training, or it can be applied towards a future intensive.
We are so excited that you will be part of this amazing training experience. This will be a 6 day course that you won’t ever forget 🙂
If we can support you in any way prior to the intensive, please do not hesitate to ask.
