Nervous System Balance through Nature-Inspired Play Therapy Learning Objectives:
- Describe the therapeutic benefits and practical applications of playful, nature-inspired breathwork and movement in play therapy to foster nervous system regulation and resilience across the lifespan
- Explain how shared, nature-based, play-focused techniques create a felt sense of safety and connection, promoting nervous system balance and flexibility
- Demonstrate 7 nature-themed, play-based interventions that build autonomic nervous system resilience, allowing clients to experience arousal and return to a regulated state when a sense of safety is accessed

Jackie Flynn, EdS, LMHC-S, RPT-S, is a passionate advocate for healing through play, EMDR, and the natural world. As the owner of Counseling in Brevard in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Jackie works with individuals of all ages, using play therapy and EMDR to foster deep transformation. Her practice is built on compassion, connection, and the healing power of both creative play and nature. Jackie is also the founder of EMDR and Play Therapy Integration Support and the creator of ReWilding EMDR™, where she teaches clinicians how to infuse nature and play into the 8 phases of EMDR therapy. As an EMDRIA-approved trainer and consultant and an Association for Play Therapy-approved provider, she is recognized as a leader in the field. Her work is grounded in her love for play, nature, and the healing power of safe, human connection. Jackie’s background also includes her work as a former middle school teacher, professional school counselor, clinician, and author.
