The Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor Recertification Program, isn’t just about offering guidance—it’s about supporting Certified SPT Supervisors in continuing to embody the core tenets of Synergetic Play Therapy in their work with supervisees, and acknowledging that there is always room for growth and transformation in our work.

In this program, you will rediscover how to:

  • Establish strong, trusting supervisory relationships using SPT principles, as well as, how to assess supervisees at different stages of their development and guide their growth.
  • Navigate complex ethical dilemmas, including managing dual relationships, maintaining authenticity, and applying legal and ethical considerations in the supervision process.
  • Master cultural awareness and humility by applying SPT tenets through a cultural opportunity lens, supporting therapists in navigating diversity in their clinical work.
  • Enhance your supervisory skills by using reflective practice to empower supervisees to explore their therapeutic work and personal development, while also reflecting on your own patterns as a supervisor.

PLUS, this program has been completely redesigned! All recorded video content will be brand new to anyone certified prior to 2025!

Renewal of the “Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor” credential is required every 6 years to ensure your credential remains current. To renew your Certified SPT Supervisor credential, you are required to:

  1. Complete the “Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor Recertification Program”, AND
  2. Participate in 8-hours of additional individual or group consultation/supervision with an approved SPT Supervisor Consultant*

  • Must have previously completed a Level 3 Becoming a Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor program.

*This program is exclusively for Certified SPT Supervisors seeking SPT Credential Renewal/Recertification of the Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor credential.


This program consists of 13 hours of learning through 10 pre-recorded video modules and recorded video analysis. During the program, you will also create a Professional Development Plan to be reviewed during an individual consultation with an SPT Supervisor Consultant.
*This program does not include the 8 additional hours of individual/group consultation needed to finalize your SPT Credential Renewal/Recertification. Program Requirements: 

  • Watch 10 pre-recorded video modules and complete associated quizzes
  • Watch 1 “Recorded Video Set” of a real supervisor/supervisee session and complete a Reflective Observation Form to record your analysis of the session
  • Complete 1 Professional Development Plan, to be reviewed during individual consultation with an SPT Supervisor Consultant
  • Complete and submit a Supervisor Recertification Handouts Packet to the Institute to finalize renewal.
 


A full refund, less a $150 USD administrative fee, will be provided if the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute is notified within 30 calendar days of program registration.
No refunds will be issued after 30 calendar days from the date of program registration OR within 4 weeks of the program start date, whichever comes first. However, participants may transfer their payment to another program offered by the Institute or may transfer their registration to the following year. Requests for transfers must be made at least 30 days before the original program start date.
In the case of an emergency situation that prevents participation in the program, please contact the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute directly to discuss your options. Emergency considerations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis at the Institute’s discretion.
