Welcome to Day 2 of “2 Days of Play Therapy Workshops in Adelaide, Australia”! This day consists of two separate topics: Developing Interoception: The Pre-Req for Co-regulation and Self-Regulation in the Playroom AND Mindfulness in Play Therapy.

To receive CE Credit Hours for these topics, you must attend both live events, in-person and must complete a quiz at the end of this course. Once completed, you will have the opportunity to print a course certificate.

This live event will be held at the Adelaide Botanic Garden, Hackney Road, Adelaide SA 5000, in Noel Lothian Hall.

Noel Lothian Hall is an indoor venue nestled between the Rose Garden and Kitchen Garden within Adelaide Botanic Garden and has a beautiful, lush lawn and Conservatory views!

Live Event Schedule & How to Prepare:

When: September 30, 2024, 9am – 4:30pm Australian Central Standard Time*

*We will be taking short breaks during both teachings and will have an hour for lunch where you will be able to step away, explore, and find lunch on your own. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

Prior to our time together on September 30, 2024, you will also need to complete the first lesson of this course and agree to the Course Agreements. *You must complete the Course Agreements lesson before you will gain access to the following lessons.


Live Event Learning Objectives: You will be asked to rate these objectives after our time together on September 30th in order to receive your certificate.

Developing Interoception: The Pre-req for Co-regulation and Self-Regulation in the Playroom Learning Objectives

  • Explore at least 4 ways to develop the interoceptive sense in the therapist and in the child client
  • Discuss the importance of the therapist strengthening their own interoceptive sense and the implications in the playroom for trauma integration
  • Examine the role interoception plays in the development of the ability to regulate and co-regulate

Mindfulness in Play Therapy Learning Objectives

  • Develop an understanding of the neuroscience behind mindfulness and the importance of cultivating mindfulness in play therapy
  • Identify three ideas to help children cultivate mindfulness during their play therapy sessions
  • Identify three ideas to help play therapists cultivate mindfulness within themselves in the play therapy session
  • Explain the connection between mindfulness and trauma integration in the play therapy process

CE Credit Hours: Up to 12 CE Credit Hours can be earned by completing both days of teaching, or 6 CE Credit Hours for one full day. NBCC Content Areas: Counseling Theory/Practice and the Counseling Relationship; Human Growth and Development; Wellness and Prevention
