Hello Awesome Student!
We are delighted that you will be joining us for the upcoming Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT) Intensive Training. Whether you are familiar with SPT or just jumping in, welcome! You are in for a magical experience as you watch your child client and 3 other children transform and integrate right before your very eyes. And… one of the best parts is that you will get to transform right along side them!
This training is limited to only 4 therapists at a time in order to support your integration of the material at a high level. You will be guided by 2 fabulous Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Consultants/Instructors who have been on the exact same journey you are about to embark on.
To get you started and grounded in the experience, here is some information to help you:
The hours of the training are 9:00 am – 6:00 pm every day of the training with an hour lunch break. (Lunch not provided, but feel free to bring one with you if you would like) We have included the Intensive Training Schedule so that you have a better idea about the order of events for the training.
BEFORE YOUR TRAINING:
- Please complete the following course agreements by Clicking Here to Complete.
- A copy of these agreements can be downloaded here for your records: Course Agreements
- Please email firstname.lastname@example.org a copy of your active Professional Liability Insurance before the start of your training. If you have already done this when you signed up, Thank You! You do not need to re-do it.
- Order a copy of Lisa’s book and start reading as reading the book is part of the course. (Order information below.)
- Watch the 24 minute video from Lisa at the bottom of this page introducing you to this course. (It is super important to watch this video before you begin the training!)
We encourage you to dress comfortably and to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Keep in mind that you will be playing and will spend a lot of time on the floor, so we do not encourage you to wear a skirt. Note: You will be meeting with the parents of your child client in addition to having a 20 minute play therapy session in the afternoon on the first day. You will also see the parents during each drop off/pick up every day and meet with them again on the very last day, so you will need to look professional, even though you can be casual. Jeans are just fine to wear. We also encourage you to bring walking/hiking shoes and spend a little time outside at the end of the day. (If you just felt nervous reading that you are meeting the parents and your kiddo on the first day, take a deep breath. You are completely supported and we will help you ease into this process slowly and guide you each step of the way)
WHAT TO BRING:
All of your training materials will be provided for you. Please bring a laptop for note taking and for writing your final treatment summary (we will teach you how to write a great one!). You will also be given time on the last day of your training to log onto the training platform, rate the class objectives, give course feedback and access your certificate.
